Top 10 Scariest Pokemon
#8 - Drifloon
Up next in our top ten countdown is Drifloon. Drifloon, like most Pokemon, seems quite childish; it doesn't have that scary appearance. Much like Yamask, the spookiness lies in Drifloon's Pokedex Entries.
Drifloon's Pokedex Entries read (From Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, and SoulSilver - in that exact order), "A Pokémon formed by the spirits of people and Pokémon. It tugs on the hands of children to steal them away. ...an old folktale calls it a Signpost for Wandering Spirits. It is whispered that any child who mistakes DRIFLOON for a balloon and holds on to it could wind up missing." Pretty deceiving from its design, right? Not so childish now, huh?
Drifloon, to start, is a balloon that is composed of spirits of dead people and Pokemon. Apparently when you pass in the Pokemon World, your spirit might want to haunt people either as a Drifloon or Yamask. Drifloon, unlike Yamask, sticks to little kids. It's easy to imagine Drifloon, as innocent as it looks, being able to easily abduct child. From there, it takes them away. Unfortunately for Drifloon (and those poor children), it doesn't control where it ends up. What Drifloon does from there is a mystery. Do they kill the children. It's definitely a possibility. Why? Well... It really lies in Drifloon evolution; Drifblim is able to release gases (possibly used to do the job?). Drifloon could also just let those children go while at hundreds of feet above ground. No one can really say what happens after Drifloon steals the children, but that doesn't stop Pokemon Fans from coming up with crazy possible outcomes.
It's scary to think that, in the Pokemon World, something as simple as a balloon is out to get you... Scratch That... It's out to get your children, who you love and adore.Tags: Pokemon Alpha Sapphire, Nintendo DS, Gameboy Advance, GameBoy, 3DS,
Well, Gengar will still be my favorite pokemon no matter what. ;) Second fav is Gastly, and next fav is Haunter. (And I love how Wikipedia says Gengar is popular with males. I'm female. ^_^)
But Pokedex entries can't describe every individual pokemon's behavior. Gastly in "The Tower of Terror" episode, the Gastly in "The Ghost of Maiden's Peak," and Officer Jenny's Gastly all had different behaviors and personalities. It's like how if pokemon could write a pokedex entry of human beings, they might say something like "Human beings rob, murder, torture, and many other things I would prefer not to say." But clearly not all human beings do that. Just like Ash's friend Haunter didn't have any desire to lick Ash or his friends to death. The "Tower of Terror" episode Gengar was definitely a lot friendlier and more benign than the Gengar in "The Ancient Puzzle of Pokemopolis" too.
But aside from these things, this article was fun to read. ^_^
Hypno can be FRIENDLY!!!!!!!! If he can eat your dreams he can also eat your nightmares. Which is good. And here's a sneak peak of my list. Scariest Pokemon ever:Darkrai
This list totally needs Darkrai...
Yep.
in the original Japaneses version it doesn't say Dusknoir takes people to the "spirit world" it say it takes them to the UNDERWORLD.
No Darkrai? Dude he feeds off people's nightmares and he can do that from 4 miles away, also no giratina but these pokemon are horrifying. And why is spoink in the mentions????
Spoink isn't a Pokemon that didn't make the cut. Splint is downright NOT scary
